Objectives

The ten member institutes of the group generate smart and comprehensive solutions to better protect society against man-made as well as naturally caused hazards. As a center of excellence for security of infrastructures, protection of people, crisis management and surveillance, the group concurrently develops cutting-edge technologies and ambitious concepts addressing both civil security and defense. Concentrating the highest level of expertise, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is the key partner in order to act and react to the full spectrum of potential and emerging security threats and respective developments.

 

Being committed to the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research as well as the Federal Ministry of Defence, the group meanwhile asserts itself as the driving force of the entire field of defense and security. Having also become one of the major players on European level the group allows intense networking with promising collaborative research activities. With pioneering spirit combined with outstanding achivements the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft significantly contributes to the future strategic orientation of the European security and defense research policy.
